Witnesses said the car plunged into the river, and a group of people filming a documentary nearby saw the incident and jumped into action to save the driver. “We were holding him up against the car. The car went under and just as that happened, there were two other swimmers who got out there just in time and they had life jackets,” rescuer Libby Peters said.
