Greenlight Networks has completed its acquisition of FastBridge Fiber, a Berks County-based fiber internet provider.<\/p>\n

The acquisition was announced in November<\/a> and completed July 6, according to Michele Sadwick, chief revenue officer for Greenlight Networks. Financial details have not been announced.<\/p>\n

FastBridge provides service in Pennsylvania and New York. Among the communities served in Pennsylvania are Sinking Spring, West Reading, Shillington, Reading, Wyomissing, Temple and Muhlenberg Township in Berks County as well as Bloomsburg, Williamsport, Erie, Danville, and Hazleton.<\/p>\n

The transaction adds more than 65,000 households to Greenlight\u2019s\u00a0 footprint in those areas, with more expected by the end of the year with construction efforts already underway, the company said in a press release.<\/p>\n

The acquisition builds on Greenlight\u2019s Northeast growth strategy, particularly in communities in northeast and south-central Pennsylvania and western New York, according to Michele Sadwick, chief revenue officer at Greenlight Networks.<\/p>\n

In an emailed response to questions, Sadwick added that with the strength of the combined Greenlight Networks and FastBridge Fiber teams, the company is positioned to accelerate fiber expansion throughout Berks, Chester, Delaware and Montgomery counties.<\/p>\n

Now that the acquisition is complete, the FastBridge Fiber brand will transition to Greenlight Networks over the coming months. Customers and communities will begin to see transitional cobranding as the two companies formally integrate, according to Sadwick.<\/p>\n

While the name is changing, current customers can expect the same reliable fiber internet service and local support, the company said.<\/p>\n

Customers have received information about the completion of the transaction, and a dedicated FAQ page is available on the FastBridge website: https:\/\/fastbridgefiber.com\/faq-greenlight-networks\/\u00a0<\/a> The company encourages customers to contact the company\u2019s customer support team if they have questions.<\/p>\n

As part of the acquisition, about 120 FastBridge employees are joining the Greenlight organization, bringing the combined workforce to about 370 employees.<\/p>\n

Sadwick said FastBridge\u2019s employees are a key reason for the acquisition, adding that their local knowledge, commitment to customer service and operational expertise will help support Greenlight\u2019s continued growth and expansion.<\/p>\n

Additionally, the combination will add operational hubs through FastBridge\u2019s existing Wyomissing, Robesonia and Williamsport office locations, the company said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWith our recently announced joint venture with T-Mobile and last year\u2019s acquisition of Loop Internet, this marks yet another major step in Greenlight\u2019s evolution as a leading fiber provider in the Northeast,\u201d Murphy added.<\/p>\n

Greenlight currently serves more than 320,000 households and businesses across New York, Pennsylvania and Maryland.<\/p>\n

In April, the company announced a $62 million expansion into the Lehigh Valley<\/a>. The expansion is expected to add thousands of homes and businesses across the region to Greenlight\u2019s network by the end of 2027.<\/p>\n

Nearly $33 million is dedicated to building fiber infrastructure in Bethlehem, one of the first communities selected for the initial network expansion, according to the company. Construction is already underway in Bethlehem, and neighborhoods will be added in phases, with more than 22,000 homes and businesses expected to gain access to Greenlight\u2019s fiber network as the build progresses.<\/p>\n

The company said it is not in a position to discuss additional construction.
