EXETER TWP., Pa. \u2013 At Monday night\u2019s meeting of the Exeter Township Board of Supervisors steps were taken to provide funds for the new Emergency Services Center, the new Administration Building, and the renovated Police Department.<\/p>\n
Supervisor Amanda Johnsen was absent from the meeting.<\/p>\n
Administration<\/p>\n
Resolution No. 2026-27, Supplemental Appropriation of Bond Proceeds (Emergency Services Center Project) was approved by the Board.<\/p>\n
The proceeds of the Bonds are held in the Township\u2019s Municipal Complex Fund, and a portion of the proceeds in the amount of $10.2 million remains on hand, unexpended and not otherwise appropriated.<\/p>\n
The costs of the project have exceeded the amount appropriated for the project in the Township\u2019s adopted 2026 Budget by approximately $1,500,000 and the township anticipates that there will be additional costs for the project between now and Dec. 31. The Township\u2019s 2026 budget will reflect a supplemental appropriation from $500,00.00 to $2 million.<\/p>\n
In another supplemental appropriation, the supervisors approved Resolution No. 2026-28, for supplemental appropriation of Wastewater Treatment Sale Proceeds for renovations to 1 Hearthstone Court and the Police Department. The Township\u2019s 2026 budget is hereby to reflect a supplemental appropriation transfer from the Wastewater Treatment Sale Proceeds fund to the Municipal Complex Fund in the amount of $500,000.<\/p>\n
RFP Tabled<\/p>\n
Township manager William Heim reported the township received three responses to the RFP regarding architectural services for both the forthcoming Exeter Township Administration Building at #1 Hearthstone Court and the Exeter Township Police Department at 4975 DeMoss Road. He reported each of the firms prepared and submitted explanatory and interesting information about their organization and its accomplishments.<\/p>\n
Each of the three responses was opened on Friday, June 5, 2026, starting at noon, Heim noted. All three proposals demonstrated adherence to the RFP requirements. All three supplied both technical and cost information. The submitted costs for each were: Beers + Hoffman, $ 99,896; Buchert Horn, $102,120; Boyle Construction Management, $ 59,502.<\/p>\n
Supervisor Clarence Hamm, supported by supervisor Jack Piho, moved to table the motion to approve the bid from Boyle Construction Management, Center Valley, Pa. so the company can provide more detailed cost information. The other bidders will also be given the opportunity to provide more detailed cost information if they wish.<\/p>\n
In addition, the supervisors approved Signature Sign, Reading, Pa., a Co-Stars vendor, for Static and Display Board signage for the Exeter Township Municipal Building at #1 Hearthstone Court in the amount of $67,544. This includes a programmable electronic sign to display news, events, and programs which will be viewable to the public.<\/p>\n
Also, the supervisors approved Illuminated Integration LLC, Middletown, Pa., also a Co-Stars vendor, for Audio Visual Component Design for the Emergency Services Center in the amount of $30,000.<\/p>\n
Illuminated Integration will provide audiovisual, security, and low-voltage infrastructure design services for the new fire station in Reading.<\/p>\n
Illuminated Integration’s scope covers AV system design, video-over-IP distribution, audio and conferencing systems, display and mounting infrastructure, network switching, control systems, security camera systems, access control systems, structured cabling, and related technical systems supporting the station’s training, operations, and administrative environments.<\/p>\n
Also, the design will address the permanent AV, security, and low-voltage infrastructure required to support Exeter Township Fire Department’s training and presentation capabilities, unified communications, station-wide video distribution, operational display systems, facility security, and day-to-day administrative needs.<\/p>\n
This includes the training room presentation and conferencing system, conference room collaboration system, watch office multi-display environment, engine bay and gear room alerting displays, corridor and office informational displays, bunk room and day room entertainment infrastructure, centralized AV rack and network switching, interior and exterior security camera coverage, access control at secured entry points, intercom systems, and structured cabling throughout the facility.<\/p>\n
The supervisors approved a motion to correct the Ordinance Number for Solar Ordinance No. 827 adopted on June 22, 2026, to Ordinance No. 881.
