WYOMISSING, Pa.- PENN Entertainment is expanding its footprint in North America.<\/p>\n
The gaming and entertainment company, based in Wyomissing, Berks County, is launching its online sports betting platform, known as theScore Bet Sportsbook and Casino, in Alberta, Canada.<\/p>\n
PENN’s standalone apps, theScore Casino and Hollywood Casino, will also be offered in Alberta.<\/p>\n
The launch in Alberta further extends PENN’s reach in Canada. The company’s online sportsbook and gaming apps already are available in Ontario.<\/p>\n
PENN Entertainment rebranded its online sports betting platform late last year, after announcing the end of its partnership with ESPN. The split happened just two years into a ten-year, $10 billion deal. At the same time, ESPN announced DraftKings as its official online sportsbook.<\/p>\n
In addition to its online and sports betting options, PENN operates more than three dozen casinos and racetracks across North America.<\/p>\n
Shares of company stock (NASDAQ: PENN) were trading at $20.40 Monday afternoon. They’re up more than 37 percent since the start of the year.<\/p>\n
