EASTON, Pa. – Easton Restaurant Week is underway, giving you a break from cooking and serving up a big boost for local businesses across the city.<\/p>\n
69 News Reporter Sydney Kay stopped by a few restaurants taking part and gives us a taste of the deals.<\/p>\n
Orders up here at Bar Torino in Easton, a restaurant that’s known for its Neapolitan style pizza, is kneading and stretching its menu this week, all for Easton\u2019s Restaurant Week.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe idea of it really is to give our chefs the room to be creative, but also offer a great value for folks who are maybe just coming to downtown Easton for the first time,” said Matt Callahan, the general manager at Bar Torino.<\/p>\n
It’s offering dinner items such as chicken francese with an orzo pasta and broccoli rabe on a $35 prix fixe menu.<\/p>\n
Twenty-five restaurants are involved in the week that kicked off Sunday running through Saturday, with each one offering its own deal.<\/p>\n
3rd and Ferry Fish Market is reeling in the fun, with General Manager Danya Kinsman topping mango chipotle aioli on its new pan seared catfish with black bean corn crab slaw.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s really light and fun and fresh. Catfish isn\u2019t something you get everywhere,” she said.<\/p>\n
Kinsman says she looks forward to this week every year.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n 2 Lehigh Valley restaurant weeks, over 30 participants serving up tasty promotions<\/a><\/p>\n \u201cIt can become a little bit slower because people are on vacations, so it\u2019s really nice to have that \u2018pop\u2019 and all the energy and all the new people that you get to meet that come in,” she explained.<\/p>\n Bringing the boost, but also expanding your palette, an Easton staple since 1990 is serving up a unique dish.<\/p>\n \u201cDuck bacon terrine, that\u2019s our house duck bacon along with duck confit in a terrine,” said Porters’ Pub Owner Ryan Piper.<\/p>\n Piper says the restaurant scene as a whole is a great community.<\/p>\n \u201cWe all look at each other as colleagues, not so much competitors, and this is just an opportunity for all of us to get together during one week and really shine,” he explained.<\/p>\n For a full list of restaurants and details on the deals, you can head here.<\/a><\/p>\n
