A Heat Advisory is in effect for northern counties today, and all counties on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tNow the impact *** forecast from the WGAL News 8 storm team. And good evening everyone. Here is *** look at what we can expect the next couple of days here as high is going to be in the mid to upper 90s, near 100 degrees tomorrow across the area. And then as we go into the afternoons, you’re also going to notice those heat index values increasing as well and near 105 potentially tomorrow up to 100 on Thursday. So just make sure you’re staying hydrated, taking breaks often, and also don’t forget to check on your neighbors and pets. Now here’s *** look at the heat index forecast in the next couple of days. Like I said, hottest day. And then we gradually get better. You can see Thursday is still hot, could still be near 100 degrees, but it’s still going to get better on Friday and it’s intense, and then Saturday it’s muggy, but nothing that’s unusual for this time of year. Here’s *** look at the forecast for the next couple of hours. High clouds and smoke will continue to be in the sky through the rest of the evening with temperatures in the low 90s, and then as we go into tonight we’ll drop back to around 74 degrees, mostly clear. It’ll still be muggy out there and *** little bit of smoke will also be up. In the sky here, that’s why we think it’s going to be more of *** mostly cloudy night. Tomorrow, hazy sunshine feels like temperatures 100 to 105. The record is 99. We’re going to be somewhere right around that 97, 98, maybe getting close to 100 degrees in some cases as we go throughout your Wednesday. So we do have *** heat advisory that will be in effect for everyone on Wednesday. Just again, make sure that you are taking those breaks as often as you can because those heat index values will go up to around 100 degrees as we head into the afternoon. There, uh, starting right around the 4 or 5 o’clock hour, it looks like will be the worst time to be outside with the heat. Here’s *** look outside Gettysburg, and we can still see *** little bit of that haziness in the sky right now. It is currently 88 there in Gettysburg, 89 for Elizabethtown. Lancaster, you’re at, uh, 88, 89 for York, and 90 in Harrisburg. Same thing in Hershey, and also 90 in Landisburg and up in Lewistown, it’s 90 degrees. We have high pressure that’s in control, and that’s Keeping things dry and it’s also going to keep things hot as we go through the next several hours. You can see the high pressure really doesn’t move at all and that’s going to help us build up the heat for tomorrow on your Wednesday. As we go into Wednesday night, we get *** little bit more cloud cover. That’s some of that could be wildfire smoke and then as we go into Thursday, *** cold front approaches from the north, but it really doesn’t do anything as we go into Thursday afternoon. We’re not looking at really storms developing here with this front, but as I said, some of the clouds you. All on that there’s actually likely smoke here. Here’s *** look at the smoke forecast. So right now we are going to see things begin to wind down *** little bit overnight tonight. It actually improves for tomorrow morning. Still *** little bit in the sky, but not as high of *** concentration as there is now. Then tomorrow afternoon we see *** little bit of that smoke trying to work its way into our western counties. Tomorrow night and into Thursday, that’s where we see the worst of this coming in here. We’ll have to watch the air quality. Some of this may get down to the surface, although most of it does stay high up in the atmosphere. So while we don’t expect. There to be really intense issues with this.
