Here&#8217;s how you can watch the blast.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The long-awaited demolition of the structure comes as PennDOT is replacing the Commercial Street Bridge amid a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/pittsburgh\/news\/parkway-east-closure-first-day-commute\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-invalid-url-rewritten-http=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">25-day closure of the Parkway East<\/a> between the Edgewood\/Swissvale and Squirrel Hill exits.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>You can watch a livestream of the explosion in the player above. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>PennDOT said the blast is scheduled to take place between 1 p.m. and 9 p.m. today with a more specific timeframe expected to be announced as details develop.<\/p>\n<p>Once the existing bridge is demolished, PennDOT will <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/pittsburgh\/news\/penndot-heres-how-moving-commercial-street-bridge-parkway-east\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-invalid-url-rewritten-http=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">slide the new bridge into place<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>While the 25-day closure is in effect, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/pittsburgh\/news\/updating-drive-times-parkway-east-i-376-detour-closure\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-invalid-url-rewritten-http=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">traffic is being detoured using multiple routes<\/a> and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/pittsburgh\/news\/penndot-parkway-east-commercial-street-bridge-traffic-center\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-invalid-url-rewritten-http=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">The Parkway East<\/a> is expected to reopen in early August.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\n          More from CBS News\n        <\/p>\n<p class=\"content__tags__label\">In:<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"PennDOT will be performing an explosive demolition of the Commercial Street Bridge on the Parkway East today.
