S. WHITEHALL TWP., Pa. – A man is dead after a house fire in South Whitehall Township early Monday morning.<\/p>\n

County dispatchers say it broke out at the house on the 2800 block of\u00a0Helen Street around 4 a.m.<\/p>\n

In a news release, Lehigh County Coroner Daniel Buglio said firefighters removed the man, later identified as 37-year-old Christopher R. Forsythe of Allentown, from the home. Forsythe was pronounced dead at the scene at 5 a.m., Buglio said.<\/p>\n

Following an autopsy Monday, Buglio said the cause of death is Inhalation of Products of Combustion and Thermal Injuries due to a House Fire. The manner of death remains Pending Investigation.<\/p>\n

The fire appears to have severely damaged the right side of the home if you’re looking at it from the street.<\/p>\n

“Complainant reported a house on fire, believes he sees flames in the front window, thinks it’s an abandoned property,” said the dispatcher on scanner audio obtained by 69 News.<\/p>\n

The property even has an old notice on the front, identifying the building as vacant, but inside fire crews found Forsythe. He is not listed as the owner of the property.<\/p>\n

The State Police Fire Marshall is still investigating to determine how the fire started.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"S.
