{"id":244028,"date":"2026-07-15T15:00:08","date_gmt":"2026-07-15T15:00:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/244028\/"},"modified":"2026-07-15T15:00:08","modified_gmt":"2026-07-15T15:00:08","slug":"county-executive-innamorato-announces-pregnancy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/244028\/","title":{"rendered":"County Executive Innamorato announces pregnancy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Allegheny County Executive Sara Innamorato announced last night she is pregnant.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m expecting to give birth to my first child this year,\u201d said the County Executive adding she is expecting a boy.<\/p>\n<p>That came to light during Executive Innamorato&#8217;s quarterly address to County Council. <\/p>\n<p>She&#8217;s advocating for a proposal to require employers to provide 18 weeks of paid parental leave. <\/p>\n<p>The County Executive claims the policy&#8217;s impact would be minimal.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cResearchers anticipate that employers can expect about 1.7 percent of the workforce to qualify for the policy per year,\u201d said Innamorato.<\/p>\n<p>Some business owners are pushing back, saying the proposal is too costly.
