A state prison inmate serving a decadeslong sentence for attempted murder has been convicted of trying to rape an employee at the State Correctional Institution Waymart, the Wayne County district attorney\u2019s office announced Wednesday.<\/p>\n
The Wayne County jury found Talen Trice, 31, guilty of attempted rape, assault by a prisoner of a prison employee and related charges after only 16 minutes of deliberation, according to District Attorney A.G. Howell.<\/p>\n
At the time of the crime, Trice was already serving a 40- to 80-year sentence for a 2022 Huntington County conviction for attempted murder.<\/p>\n
Trice is scheduled to be sentenced Oct. 15.<\/p>\n
Howell noted that Trice will now be subject to Megan\u2019s Law and is to be evaluated as a sexually violent predator.<\/p>\n
