Smoky haze returns to western Pennsylvania<\/p>\n

The plume of wildfire smoke won’t be as thick as last week.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tThe wildfire smoke is coming back now. Unlike the past couple of days, it is not going to be nearly as thick. There still will be some impacts on air quality. In fact, we are seeing that this morning. Some areas of red indicating unhealthy air for most coming in through parts of the Ohio Valley, even extending up towards Cranberry Butler in the Katanning here this morning. And for the majority of the day we’re going to be in that yellow to even orange range, especially as some of that smoke tries to drift *** little bit closer to the surface as you go through the late stages today, even closer to. Our sunset, which should be very vibrant with that smoke in place, so the haze is just starting to develop here this morning. Let’s take *** look hour by hour. Winds shifting out of the north and northwest that guides everything back in. We are starting to see some of that thicker smoke showing up on future casts, especially up along 4:22 around 7 o’clock this evening. So again, something to be mindful of. You may start to notice *** little bit more of that campfire smell as the day is winding down. That’s going to try and drift closer to the city of Pittsburgh later on tonight. So best to keep those windows. Clothes air conditioning running even though temperatures are going to be very comfortable tonight. We’re going to start off in the mid to even upper 50s. Nice day tomorrow to ease into *** brand new work week. Tuesday though has been updated, upgraded to *** severe weather alert day. Looks like *** more significant severe risk for us, and that’s going to include everybody across Western Pennsylvania, primarily afternoon and evening hours. At this point, all modes of severe weather are on the table, damaging winds, possibly even *** few more tornadoes compared to yesterday. Also flash flooding that’s. The System starts to pull away on Wednesday, but still could leave behind *** few showers in the morning. But notice this temperatures ease up. We’re going to be in the mid to upper 70s Wednesday and Thursday with lower humidity, and the pattern looks to stay nice and dry for us through next weekend. But first we got to get through Tuesday and now *** severe weather alert day, uh, something that maybe is going to kind of start to raise some alarm bells for us. Already the storm Prediction Center putting out *** level 3 out of 5 when it comes to severe weather for everybody on Tuesday. Again, this is several days out. Damaging winds, *** tornado risk, also flash flooding will lead our storm risks. Here’s an early look at how things could play out on Tuesday. Out the door in the morning to some isolated showers. Main focus is going to be into the mid to late afternoon as this potent system moves in. It’s going to have *** lot of energy, wind shear too, so that’s why everything comes into play on Tuesday. Here’s 4 o’clock in the afternoon again, plus or minus *** couple of hours, but we are expecting that line to move through during the evening commute. So we’re certainly. Watching that very closely as we continue into Tuesday. Right now you can see that haze starting to develop as the sun is rising over downtown Pittsburgh. Visibility is impacted, coming in at about 4 miles with *** temperature of 67 as you work throughout the day. More of that haze develops for us. 79, our high back to the 80s tomorrow, then our severe weather alert day on Tuesday. Again, the timing and also just the overall significant nature of that storm system, obviously something that we’re going to be monitoring here over the next couple of days.
