Joseph Joe Stevens, 66, of Gouldsboro, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2026.

Born on December 29, 1959, in Scranton, Pennsylvania, where he spent his childhood growing up in Minooka. He graduated from Scranton Technical High School before beginning a career defined by hard work, dedication, and loyalty. Joe spent many years at Warner Bros. Printing (formerly Cinram) before continuing his career as an Analyst at Tobyhanna Army Depot, where he proudly served for more than a decade until his retirement in September 2025.

Joe loved baseball and was a proud Philadelphia Phillies fan. Joe found his greatest peace outdoors. Whether hunting in the autumn woods, skiing down a snow-covered mountain, or simply spending time outside with one of his beloved Golden Retrievers, nature was where he felt most at home. A passionate outdoorsman and lifelong dog lover, his faithful companions were never far from his side.

Joe was also a familiar face behind the bar at the Waldorf German-American Federation on East Mountain in Scranton. More than just a bartender, he became a friend to many, building lifelong friendships while sharing stories, laughter, and countless memories with everyone who walked through the door.

Joe was known for his coy dry sense of humor, but when he laughed it was unmistakable and contagious.

Above all else, Joe was a devoted father and took great pride in his daughters. The love he had for his family remained a constant throughout his life and was among his greatest joys.

Joe was the youngest of five children. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Anna Stevens, and his sister, Theresa. He is survived by his daughters, Jaclyn Worthington and Danielle Santarsiero; his siblings, Julie Fiorillo, Zita Timlin, and John Stevens; along with many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

A private cremation has been entrusted to the care of his family. A celebration of Joe’s life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Delaware Valley Golden Retriever Rescue in honor of Joe’s lifelong love of dogs.
