So most of our afternoon has been helping reroute people and telling them to download Google Maps, which does have this road closed. Folks who live in this neighborhood tell us it’s been an absolute mess here since yesterday. They’re driving either between the road closed signs or just around in the neighborhood. We’re having *** lot of problems with lost people doing dangerous things, turning around, speeding, wrong way on one-way roads, uh, turning around in people’s driveways, not yielding to pedestrians. Commercial Street closed weeks ago ahead of the parkway closure, and for those first few weeks, the only cars coming down. have been construction crews and the families who live in the few homes back down there. Christina Sirkovich, who runs the neighborhood group Swiss on Ford, says now the traffic is so backed up because of this new mapping issue that yesterday *** fire truck couldn’t even turn out. Pendot says they reported the issue to Apple, and City Public Safety referred us back to Pendot. Serkovich said they called police yesterday to help. traffic. We were told that there would be police stationed in the neighborhood during the day to help us out with response times and things like that. The construction crew, when they get *** lot of people coming down or if they need to send *** couple of loads of rubble up because this is also their access point for that, they’ll send some guys up to try to direct people away so that they can keep on their timeline, but it’s slowing them down too.
