READING, Pa. – A 31-year-old Reading man is being accused of sexually abusing a child.<\/p>\n

The Berks County district attorney\u2019s office said in a news release that Michael Sanchez of Reading was charged with aggravated indecent assault, corruption of a minor, endangering the welfare of a child, and indecent assault on Thursday, July 16.<\/p>\n

The following day, the defendant appeared at the Berks County Courthouse and surrendered to members of the Berks County Sheriff\u2019s Department.<\/p>\n

An arrest warrant was issued for Sanchez, and he was committed to the Berks County Jail on $100,000 bail, according to attorneys.<\/p>\n

The incident allegedly occurred in January 2026 when the Berks County District Attorney\u2019s Detectives received multiple reports that a 13-year-old female was the victim of suspected sexual abuse, said the DA\u2019s office.<\/p>\n

In February 2026, a forensic interview was conducted with the 13-year-old victim at the Berks County Children\u2019s Alliance Center in Reading.<\/p>\n

At that time, the juvenile told authorities that Sanchez had sexually abused her, according to the release.<\/p>\n

Additionally, the girl disclosed that Sanchez had shown her sexually explicit videos and anime, according to attorneys.<\/p>\n
