PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – In a tournament that united soccer fans all over the world, the FIFA World Cup 2026\u2122 has wrapped up, and initial figures have been released by Philadelphia Soccer 2026.<\/p>\n
According to the organization, the matches drew record crowds to Lemon Hill, delivered a major boost to local businesses and hotels, and showcased Philadelphia as one of the country’s premier host cities.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs the 6-match run at Philadelphia Stadium and the thirty-nine-day FIFA Fan Festival\u2122 at Lemon Hill have closed, the numbers reflect not just a celebration of soccer, but a citywide showcase of Philadelphia’s hospitality, culture, and economic strength,\u201d said Philadelphia Soccer 2026.<\/p>\n
Running from June 11 to July 19, Philadelphia Soccer officials shared that the FIFA Fan Festival at Lemon Hill in East Fairmount Park was the only Fan Festival in the country open for all thirty-nine days of the tournament.<\/p>\n
The festival was free and open to the public every day, regardless of whether there was a match occurring or not.<\/p>\n
The Fan Festival ran not only in Philadelphia, but additionally in Pa. World Cup Fan Zones, which were hosted in Pittsburgh, Reading, and Scranton.<\/p>\n
Philadelphia’s official FIFA Fan Festival and Fan Zones drew more than 575,000 attendees, making it one of the most popular programs in the country, said Philadelphia Soccer.<\/p>\n
According to the organization, single-day attendance in Philly outpaced every other U.S. host city, as Philadelphia reached nearly 55,000 fans in a single day, a mark no other U.S. Fan Festival exceeded.<\/p>\n
On days without a match, the FIFA Fan Festival held a free concert series at Lemon Hill, featuring performances from The All-American Rejects, Leon Thomas, Bebe Rexha, Wisin, and more.<\/p>\n
In addition to these well-known artists, Philadelphia Soccer 2026 also created paid performance opportunities for fifty-one additional local artists and musicians to perform at the Fan Festival throughout the tournament.<\/p>\n
The organization shared that they built the Fan Festival\u2019s entire food program around a rotating network of local, independent food trucks, showcasing classic Philly staples to global flavors reflective of the city’s diversity.<\/p>\n
That vendor network generated more than $2.64 million in gross sales for local food truck operators, said the organization.<\/p>\n
According to Philadelphia Soccer, visitors from dozens of countries filled neighborhoods, restaurants, and public spaces throughout the thirty-nine-day run. Additionally, over three thousand Philadelphia-based volunteers supported tournament operations.<\/p>\n
The Fan Festival’s run created employment opportunities across Philadelphia, from festival operations and hospitality to the local food truck network stationed at Lemon Hill each day.<\/p>\n
Early estimates from Philadelphia Soccer point to more than 500 jobs created over the thirty-nine-day festival, including event staff, food and beverage service, security, transportation, and hospitality.<\/p>\n
According to the Philadelphia Convention and Visitors Bureau (PHLCVB), the tournament delivered a significant boost to the city’s hospitality sector during the six match dates in Philadelphia.<\/p>\n
Hotel revenue across the city jumped more than fifty percent during the 6 match days, and the average daily hotel room rate climbed nearly 48%, to $396, reflecting strong visitor demand.<\/p>\n
“Philadelphia showed the world exactly who we are these past several weeks \u2014 a city that is welcoming, diverse, joyful, and proud,\u201d said Mayor Cherelle L. Parker.<\/p>\n
