BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA \u2014 Voters went to the polls in Tuesday’s general election to choose among candidates for mayor, and Bensalem Township Council.<\/p>\n
The mayoral race involves a Democratic challenger trying to unseat Bensalem’s mayor of 32 years.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, there will be a new council member on the five-member board with longtime Councilman Joseph Pilieri not seeking re-election.<\/p>\n
There are also contested municipal races for auditor and treasurer.<\/p>\n
Results in Tuesday’s general election by the Bucks County Board of Elections are unofficial until they are certified at a later date.<\/p>\n
