ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The PPL Foundation says it will provide $100,000 in emergency funding to help keep food pantries stocked, amid growing concerns about food insecurity.<\/p>\n
The funding will help support agencies working to close gaps in food access for vulnerable populations throughout eastern and central Pennsylvania, according to a news release from the PPL Foundation.<\/p>\n
The foundation says the grants will help keep essential food pantries stocked with critical staples and ensure that food and financial assistance is distributed efficiently to where it\u2019s needed most.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are committed to helping our neighbors through difficult times,\u201d said Lissette Santana, president of the PPL Foundation.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re proud to stand alongside community agencies responding to a growing public health challenge and working to provide a critical safety net for those most at risk.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cAt a time when many of our neighbors are facing uncertainty around their SNAP benefits, this generous gift offers not just nourishment, but hope,\u201d said Shila Ulrich, chief executive officer of the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank.<\/p>\n
