(WOLF) \u2014 One in five Americans experience a mental health condition each year, and today, the National Alliance on Mental Illness, or NAMI, is working to remind people they don\u2019t have to face it alone. <\/p>\n<p>The organization hosted a community picnic at Nay Aug Park, offering free resources, information, snacks and yard games while giving people a chance to connect with staff and learn about the support available.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCommunity is so important when it comes to our mental well-being, and so often individuals or families who are affected by mental health find it hard to build that connection and often isolate. So coming out here to a community event really just helps build upon that,&#8221; said Katie Spencer, Director of Programs and Legislative Advocacy.<\/p>\n<p>NAMI says recovery is possible and wants people to know they\u2019re never alone.
