As renovation work continues on the exterior of Erie\u2019s VA Medical Center, new federal funding will help improve facilities inside the hospital as well.<\/p>\n
The medical center has received grant funding that will support several infrastructure and safety upgrades aimed at enhancing care for veterans. Planned improvements include the replacement of several hot water tanks, repairs and replacement of floor drains, and upgrades to patient safety equipment, including security camera systems.<\/p>\n
The funding is part of a nationwide $4 billion investment distributed by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs to modernize facilities and strengthen services for veterans across the country.<\/p>\n
VA officials say the improvements will help ensure the Erie facility remains safe, reliable, and equipped to meet the needs of the region\u2019s veterans, while complementing the ongoing renovations taking place on the building\u2019s exterior.<\/p>\n
