WHITEHALL TWP., Pa. \u2013 A local business is continuing to shine with a new location coming soon to Lehigh County.<\/p>\n
Hometown Spark, a permanent jewelry and charm bar studio, will open a second location on Aug. 1 at the Lehigh Valley Mall.<\/p>\n
The new mall kiosk will supplement Hometown Spark\u2019s original brick-and-mortar location, which opened in April 2025 at 20 Main St. in Slatington.<\/p>\n

\u201c\u2026 Soon you’ll be able to shop your favorite permanent jewelry in two locations… making it even easier to stop by for a new piece, a repair, or to introduce your bestie to her newest addiction.\u201d<\/p>\n
Owner Courtney Corona of Palmerton established the business as a mobile operation in July 2023, making appearances at public and private events and building a large and loyal following over the ensuing years.<\/p>\n
“My business name is Hometown Spark,\u201d Corona told 69 News ahead of the Slatington studio\u2019s grand opening last year. \u201cSo, playing off of that, I did events in and around my hometown, which I consider to be the Lehigh Valley.”<\/p>\n
With demand continuing to grow and clients frequently asking if Hometown Spark has a home base, Corona decided to open a brick-and-mortar location of the business last year.<\/p>\n
The Slatington studio operates in the Riverside Plaza near the Main Street Bridge over the Lehigh River.<\/p>\n

“The main reason that we jumped so quickly to open the studio is because we had a lot of clients asking where they could find us permanently,\u201d Corona said. \u201cSo, that kind of lit a fire under me and helped me realize that now is the right time to open a studio because people are wanting this.”<\/p>\n
Unlike traditional jewelry with a clasp for easy removal, permanent jewelry is welded together, making it a long-lasting piece of jewelry that you can wear for an extended period of time.<\/p>\n
Individuals can choose from different jewelry materials, as well as styles such as bracelets, necklaces and anklets.<\/p>\n
Belly chains are a popular pick during the warmer months, Corona said.<\/p>\n
“What I usually tell people is think of a bracelet without a clasp,” Corona said.<\/p>\n
“So, what we do is take the ends of whatever chain the people pick and we micro-weld them together. So, there’s no clasp for you to take it off at the end of the day – hence, the permanent part of it.”<\/p>\n

The length of time that people wear the permanently jewelry varies, but Corona notes that the permanent jewelry can be worn for years with proper care.<\/p>\n
“We use all quality materials – solid gold, gold-filled or pure sterling silver,” Corona added.<\/p>\n
“So, all of these metals can withstand everyday wear, exercise, chemicals, chlorine, things like that. So, you can wear them for years. Myself and my employees have had them on for almost two years and they still look fresh.”<\/p>\n
Hometown Spark also offers ear piercing and a charm bar, where individuals can build their own charm bracelets or necklaces. The charm pieces have clasps and are not considered permanent jewelry.<\/p>\n
“We have over 100 different charms and over 20 different chains for people to choose from,” Corona said.<\/p>\n
Hometown Spark continues to attend events around the Lehigh Valley to bring its unique services to the community. The business also offers private party services at the studio and clients’ homes.<\/p>\n
