More than 575,000 fans packed Philadelphia\u2019s FIFA Fan Festival during its 39-day run, the organizing committee announced.<\/p>\n
The festival at Lemon Hill ran through most games of the World Cup, and on days there was no action with a series of free concerts. It came in addition to programming in the city around the six World Cup matches held at Lincoln Financial Field and was the only fan festival in the country that ran throughout the tournament.<\/p>\n
The press release cites Philadelphia\u2019s attendance as having \u201coutpaced every other U.S. host city,\u201d with a single-day high of 55,000 fans.<\/p>\n
The festival generated $2.64 million in gross sales of food from local food truck vendors.\u00a0 It also did $2.47 million in alcohol sales while delivering big numbers for brand activations from FIFA sponsors like Coca-Cola, Lays and Michelob.<\/p>\n
Fifty-one local artists and musicians were paid to perform or appear. The festival drew from a pool of more than 3,000 volunteers based in the city, who also worked match days.<\/p>\n
\u201cPhiladelphia showed the world exactly who we are these past several weeks: a city that is welcoming, diverse, joyful and proud,\u201d Philadelphia Mayor Cherelle L. Parker said. \u201cFrom Lemon Hill to Lincoln Financial Field to our neighborhood corridors, Philadelphians opened their doors to visitors from around the globe, and our hospitality, our culture, and our people were on full display for the entire world to see. This tournament will leave a lasting legacy for our city.\u201d<\/p>\n
Nearly 10,000 fans took part in organized marches in the city, at locations like the sporting complex, City Hall and the Philadelphia Art Museum. They contributed to record-setting attendance numbers for a number of institutions during the America\u2019s 250 celebration on July 4.<\/p>\n
The Fan Festival cites the number of 500 temporary jobs created, while hotel revenue in the city jumped more than 50 percent around the six match days and a 90 percent occupancy on July 4 around the final game in the city.<\/p>\n
\u201cExecuting a tournament of this scale takes years of planning and a genuine partnership between the public and private sectors, and Philadelphia delivered,\u201d Co-Chair of Philadelphia Soccer 2026 Dan Hilferty said in a press release. \u201cFrom our hospitality workforce to our small business owners to the thousands of volunteers who showed up every single day, this was a citywide effort, and every part of it performed at a world-class level. The figures we\u2019re releasing today are just the opening chapter, we\u2019re already focused on how this momentum translates into long-term investment and opportunity for our region.\u201d<\/p>\n
