A restaurant in Pittsburgh with two dozen violations has been ordered closed by the Allegheny County Health Department.<\/p>\n
An inspection shows the PF BBQ House on Atwood Street in Oakland was hit with 24 violations during an inspection on Tuesday. Six of those violations are considered high-risk.<\/p>\n
Inspectors say the restaurant didn\u2019t correct violations from an inspection in May 2025 and several issues remain including pest control, cold-holding food and cross contamination prevention.<\/p>\n
Some of the high-risk violations include \u201ctoo many to count\u201d mouse droppings in several areas including in upstairs storage, on various stairs, on the floor of the beverage area, under dining booths, on a floor behind a fish tank, in a closet, on the floor of the food prep area and other locations.<\/p>\n
Bay leaf bags and cardboard boxes with spices were found with chew marks. Multiple boxes of red chili peppers were adulterated with moths. A dead mouse found on a glue trap in the basement.<\/p>\n
Also, margarine was found in a walk-in cooler, covered in black mold, bags of shrimp contaminated with condensate ice buildup, spices and nuts contaminated by mouse urine and droppings and a container of sweet rice and black pepper in a basement contaminated with mouse droppings were found.<\/p>\n
All of those items were thrown away.<\/p>\n
The walk-in cooler had several items above the 41-degree threshold for cold-holding food. They included cooked duck, soaking bean sprouts, pooled eggs and tofu. <\/p>\n
Multiple raw meat skewers were found between 52 and 64 degrees in a cooler. Those items were moved to the freezer.<\/p>\n
Several food preparation items were found unwashed with old food debris on them.<\/p>\n
The Health Department says the closure is due to \u201cmalfunctioning refrigeration and multiple repeat medium and high risk violations.\u201d<\/p>\n
