SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA CO. (WOLF) \u2014 The County of Lackawanna Transit System, or COLTS, is seeking feedback from its riders on the most necessary improvements for COLTS as part of the early stages of developing its transit development plan.<\/p>\n
Members of the COLTS team were stationed outside of the Lackawanna Transit Center on Wednesday and Thursday to speak with riders face-to-face, collecting survey responses on shaping the future of transit in Lackawanna County.<\/p>\n
“A lot of suggestions have been extended hours, extended service, weekend routes, weekend service, better connection points, some improvements on our bus stops and our shelters; the list could go on, and we know that we could do better,” Keri Savage, Chief Communications and Compliance Officer for COLTS, said.<\/p>\n
The TDP, which is currently under development by COLTS, PennDOT and independent contractor Kimley-Horn to determine what meaningful improvements can be made to understand how communities in the county typically access these types of Public Transit options and find ways to expand transit options throughout Lackawanna County.<\/p>\n
“I think that like most transit agencies, COVID took a big toll on our service, and you know we’re not in 2020 anymore, we’re in 2026 and things are evolving, Scranton is evolving and we need to make sure that we continue to evaluate that to serve our community best,” Savage said.<\/p>\n
The survey is part of a multi-phase process and if you want to share your feedback, you can go to coltsbus.com\/tdp to complete the survey as part of the early stages of the Transit Development Plan process.<\/p>\n
