The company offers personal care and companionship services through a team of trained caregivers serving families across Berks County.

Addressing those gathered during the ceremony, owner Jennifer Teller reflected on the company’s mission and the relationships built over the past two and a half decades.

“Twenty-five years ago, Comfort Keepers of Berks County opened its doors with a simple mission: to help seniors live safely, comfortably, and with dignity in the homes they love,” Teller said. “Today, standing here with all of you, I couldn’t be prouder of how far that mission has carried us.”

She thanked the community for its support, clients and their families for their trust, and recognized the caregivers and office staff whose work has sustained the organization.

“To our caregivers — you are the heart of this company,” Teller said. “Every single day, you show up with compassion, patience, and skill, often during quiet moments no one else sees. This anniversary is truly a celebration of you and the countless acts of kindness you’ve given so generously over the years.”

Teller also spoke about the personal significance of now leading the business alongside her son, Michael Mish, who joined Comfort Keepers in 2023 as a second-generation owner.

“Watching him step into this business and carry our mission forward means more to me than words can express,” she said. “Twenty-five years ago, I never could have imagined I’d get to build this next chapter alongside him.”

Following the ceremony, Teller said the anniversary represents both a professional accomplishment and a personal commitment to serving Berks County seniors.

“So 25 years here in Berks County. It’s certainly an honor and a milestone that we appreciate having the opportunity to keep seniors where they want to be, and that’s in the homes that they love,” she said.

Teller said her passion for senior care is rooted in personal experience. In addition to leading the company, she cares for her own mother, who is living with dementia.

“For me personally, I truly care about helping our local Berks County seniors, and having a mom with dementia makes it all much more meaningful for me,” Teller said. “We provide care to her as well, so it’s something that gives me even more in-depth understanding of what our aging seniors are going through, as well as what their children are also going through.”

She credited the company’s caregivers and office staff for making the milestone possible.

“We could not do this without any of our office team, and caregivers are the heart of this business,” Teller said. “Caregivers go out every single day and provide the care to our seniors, and the office team is doing all the behind-the-scenes work. We would not be here today if it wasn’t for the right people showing up every single day.”

Looking ahead, Teller said she believes the need for in-home senior care will continue to grow.

“The future is bright,” she said. “We continue to have more and more people coming into our space, more aging people, not only just in Berks County but across the country. So we feel it’s an honor to have that opportunity to continue to embrace the aging population.”

Reflecting on the company’s longevity, Teller said reaching 25 years is a testament to the dedication of the people behind the organization.

“It hasn’t always been easy, but certainly always meaningful,” she said. “That milestone just makes me proud to be part of this community so long, proud to have caregivers, proud to have an amazing team that supports us to do that. It’s just an honor to be able to be here this long in Berks County.”

Comfort Keepers of Berks County marked a milestone Thursday by celebrating 25 years of providing in-home care for…

[11
128,130,129
post-250713","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-reading","tag-reading-city","tag-reading-city-headlines","tag-reading-city-news
["GET
