<\/a>STOWE TOWNSHIP, Pa. \u2014<\/p>\nThe Pittsburgh Passion women’s football team is headed back to the national championship game on Saturday in Canton, Ohio.<\/p>\n
The Passion are aiming to win the fourth title in team history and claim the Women’s Football Alliance championship trophy, which is named after Franco Harris<\/a>, for the first time since the Steelers legend and Pro Football Hall of Famer died in 2022<\/a>.<\/p>\n “He was one of our owners, and so special to us,” Passion co-owner and head coach Teresa Conn said about Harris. “Nothing would make us happier than to hand Dok and Dana and our ownership team, all of them, Tony, John, everybody — to hand that Franco Harris trophy over to them would warm our hearts.”<\/p>\n Looking for more news in your area | Subscribe to the WTAE YouTube Channel<\/a><\/p>\n Conn credited the team’s leadership on and off the field and their coaching staff for the Passion’s success this season. <\/p>\n “I can’t give enough credit to the players. They’re humble. They’re hungry. It’s humble greatness. It’s just what Franco and all of our leadership team would want to represent,” Conn said.<\/p>\n The Passion will face the Minnesota Vixen in the finals at 2 p.m. Saturday at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium. The women are confident in their ability to bring the title home to Pittsburgh.<\/p>\n “Our ability to adapt, and continue to just prepare for what we may or may not see,” Passion quarterback Makai Chavez said.<\/p>\n “They have that humble greatness.
