LEHIGH TWP., Pa. \u2013 A new diner is serving up omelettes, club sandwiches, steaks and more in Northampton County.<\/p>\n

The diner replaces Diamond Grill<\/a>, a restaurant that Tassie previously operated with a former partner for about two months.\u00a0<\/p>\n Tassie\u2019s wife, Julia, is continuing to assist with operations, and the couple\u2019s decision to switch gears with a diner was prompted primarily by local residents\u2019 feedback.<\/p>\n \u201cIn opening Diamond Grill, we realized that fine dining is not for this area,\u201d Julia said.<\/p>\n \u201c\u2026 A lot of local people coming in were telling our servers that they wanted to see a diner instead of a fine dining restaurant. So, after listening to the community, we changed the concept.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cDiamond Grill\u2019s menu was more upscale, and the Diner on Lehigh menu is a lot more casual,\u201d Nelson added.<\/p>\n Diner on Lehigh also features a new management team and look.<\/p>\n Diner on Lehigh, offering freshly prepared dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner daily, opened Thursday at 4330 Lehigh Drive Suite 7 in Lehigh Township.<\/p>\n Ryan Kneller<\/p>\n In recent days, the Tassies implemented cosmetic upgrades, including new blue wall paint and retro diner d\u00e9cor.<\/p>\n \u201cOn Sunday at 1 p.m., we closed the [Diamond Grill] doors, started renovating and finished last night around midnight,\u201d Nelson said. \u201cWe also have some new signs and neon lights coming in the next day or two.\u201d<\/p>\n Diner on Lehigh, with seating for around 60 guests, offers appetizers such as chicken wings, pierogies, quesadillas and loaded fries or tots; wraps such as Buffalo chicken, cheesesteak, chicken Caesar and tuna salad; and sandwiches such as a reuben, fish sandwich, meatball parm sandwich and BBQ cheesesteak.<\/p>\n Nearly 20 entrees (served with rolls and butter, choice of soup or salad, choice of potato \u2013 baked, sweet or mashed, and a vegetable) include broiled haddock, chicken alfredo with linguine, meatloaf with gravy, grilled ham steak, 12-ounce ribeye steak, spaghetti with meatballs, shrimp scampi with linguine and more.<\/p>\n Entrees start at $12.95, while most sandwiches are $7.95-$11.95.<\/p>\n Diner on Lehigh, offering freshly prepared dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner daily, opened Thursday at 4330 Lehigh Drive Suite 7 in Lehigh Township.<\/p>\n Ryan Kneller<\/p>\n Guests also can enjoy burgers such as the Jules (topped with fried egg, bacon and lettuce) and Lehigh (topped with sauteed mushrooms, onions, bacon and Swiss cheese); hot open-face sandwiches such as ham, turkey and roast beef; and a wide array of soups, salads and sides.<\/p>\n Breakfast items, available all day, include popular picks such as pancakes, French toast, Belgian waffles, eggs Benedict, any-style egg platters, breakfast quesadillas and breakfast sandwiches.<\/p>\n There\u2019s also a variety of breakfast specials, including a \u201cRoundup\u201d (choice of two pancakes or French toast, two eggs any style and two strips of bacon) and sausage melt (two scrambled eggs, sausage patties and cheese in a pancake with home fries).<\/p>\n \u201cYou can get breakfast anytime you want, which I love,\u201d Nelson said.<\/p>\n \u201cWhen I go to a diner and can\u2019t make up my mind what I want, I\u2019ll get a Western omelette. We\u2019re offering a lot of fresh dishes for breakfast, including our own cream chipped beef, scrapple and home fries.\u201d<\/p>\n Diner on Lehigh\u00a0occupies an updated Lehigh Town Center space that was also previously home to A Ca Mia, a BYOB Italian restaurant that closed in January 2023 after 10 years of business<\/a>, and Baker Ben\u2019s Bakery, which relocated to Delaware Avenue in Palmerton earlier this year<\/a>.<\/p>\n Diner on Lehigh, offering freshly prepared dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner daily, opened Thursday at 4330 Lehigh Drive Suite 7 in Lehigh Township.<\/p>\n Ryan Kneller<\/p>\n The diner is the Tassies\u2019 third business in the Lehigh Town Center, supplementing their Blue Mountain Billiards pool hall and NJT Arms<\/a> gun store.<\/p>\n Diner on Lehigh is open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday through Wednesday and 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday through Saturday.<\/p>\n A private party room, accommodating around 50 people, is expected to debut in the fall, Nelson said.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
