{"id":251228,"date":"2026-07-24T16:17:10","date_gmt":"2026-07-24T16:17:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/251228\/"},"modified":"2026-07-24T16:17:10","modified_gmt":"2026-07-24T16:17:10","slug":"pittsburghs-largest-foundation-tops-1-billion-giving-goal-3-years-early-wpxi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/251228\/","title":{"rendered":"Pittsburgh\u2019s largest foundation tops $1 billion giving goal 3 years early \u2013 WPXI"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">PITTSBURGH \u2014 Pittsburgh\u2019s biggest foundation has surpassed its plan to award more than $1 billion in grants and program-related investments three years earlier than anticipated.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">The Richard King Mellon Foundation\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bizjournals.com\/pittsburgh\/news\/2021\/01\/27\/foundation-reveals-strategic-plan.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">10-year strategic plan, announced in January 2021<\/a>, was described as a blueprint to invest over $1.2 billion over the next decade and it expected to pass the $1 billion mark around mid-2029.
