Founded in 2009, Lil\u2019 Filmmakers has spent well over a decade giving Philadelphia\u2019s young people a real pathway into the film and media industry.<\/p>\n
They don\u2019t just teach kids how to point a camera. They teach discipline, collaboration, confidence, and voice.<\/p>\n
For RDC, having Lil\u2019 Filmmakers as a tenant has never felt purely transactional. It has felt like a partnership in the truest sense \u2014 two organizations working toward the same goal: a stronger, more vibrant Ridge Avenue corridor where art, opportunity, and community intersect.<\/p>\n

As many in the Roxborough community already know, Lil\u2019 Filmmakers recently faced an unexpected financial hurdle \u2014 the kind of that can put years of hard-won youth programming at risk.<\/p>\n
While their funding disappeared, true to the resilience they instill in every young storyteller who walks through their doors, the organization isn\u2019t slowing down. They\u2019re rolling on.<\/p>\n
That\u2019s exactly what Rox the Block is about. This is Lil\u2019 Filmmakers\u2019 collective comeback story, told the way they know best: through community, creativity, and a genuinely good time.<\/p>\n
The event doubles as both a summer block party and a showcase of their headquarters, giving neighbors, supporters, and newcomers alike the chance to see firsthand where the magic happens.<\/p>\n

The goal is ambitious but necessary: raise $75,000 to sustain Lil\u2019 Filmmakers\u2019 youth programming and, critically, their paid student internships.<\/p>\n
Paid opportunities that give Philadelphia teens actual industry experience and a paycheck to go with it. Every dollar raised goes directly toward media educational programs, youth-led film productions, and the day-to-day operational costs that keep the lights on and the cameras rolling.<\/p>\n
Rox the Block is being billed as the ultimate Philly block party, and organizers are pulling out all the nostalgic stops. Attendees can expect:<\/p>\n
