{"id":252079,"date":"2026-07-25T23:45:26","date_gmt":"2026-07-25T23:45:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/252079\/"},"modified":"2026-07-25T23:45:26","modified_gmt":"2026-07-25T23:45:26","slug":"police-off-duty-philly-cop-involved-in-deadly-shooting-in-northampton-county","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/252079\/","title":{"rendered":"Police: Off-duty Philly cop involved in deadly shooting in Northampton County"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) \u2014 Authorities said an off-duty Philadelphia police officer was involved in a deadly shooting in Northampton County Friday afternoon.<\/p>\n<p>According to Pennsylvania State Police, troopers were called to a home in Allen Township, near Allentown, around 2 p.m. for a report of a domestic altercation.<\/p>\n<p>They found a 27-year-old suffering from a gunshot wound, and police said a 25-year-old drove away. Troopers said a pursuit ensued, ending back at the shooting scene, where the 25-year-old was arrested.<\/p>\n<p>Police said the victim died about an hour after the shooting.
