{"id":252090,"date":"2026-07-26T00:15:25","date_gmt":"2026-07-26T00:15:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/252090\/"},"modified":"2026-07-26T00:15:25","modified_gmt":"2026-07-26T00:15:25","slug":"off-duty-philadelphia-cop-a-suspect-in-northampton-county-homicide","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/252090\/","title":{"rendered":"Off-duty Philadelphia cop a suspect in Northampton County homicide"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Listen to article \u2022\u00a00:00 min<\/p>\n<p class=\"inq-p text-primary  \">An off-duty Philadelphia police officer is a suspect in a homicide in Northampton County, according to the <a class=\"relative z-1 text-blue-mid hover:shadow-lightmode\" data-link-type=\"article-body\" href=\"https:\/\/www.inquirer.com\/topic\/philadelphia-police-department\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Philadelphia Police Department<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p class=\"inq-p text-primary  \">Police said Saturday that they are aware that the off-duty cop \u2014 identified as Kenroy Cummings \u2014 was involved in a shooting in Allen Township. <\/p>\n<p class=\"inq-p text-primary  \">Shortly before 2 p.m. Friday, Pennsylvania State Police responded to the report of a domestic incident on the 1200 block of Old Gate Road.<\/p>\n<p class=\"inq-p text-primary  \">At the scene, police discovered a 27-year-old man suffering from gunshot wounds. He soon died at a local hospital. After a brief car pursuit, the suspect returned to the scene, and surrendered to investigators. <\/p>\n<p class=\"inq-p text-primary  \">\u201cThe Philadelphia Police Department\u2019s Internal Affairs Bureau has been notified and has initiated the appropriate administrative investigation,\u201d said a department spokesperson.<\/p>\n<p class=\"inq-p text-primary  \">Pennsylvania State Police have not yet announced any charges in the investigation, or details on the victim.
