The second annual Carbondalien Festival, a celebration of a mysterious glowing light in 1974, is Friday and Saturday. It kicks off Friday with a parade at 6 p.m., traveling Main Street from PNC Bank to the YMCA. It is followed by a concert at 8 at the Anthracite Hotel. Saturday is a full day celebrating UFO culture, including an appearance by Star Wars stormtroopers, tethered hot-air-balloon rides and an immersive theater experience at the site of the alleged UFO crash. Community Center in Drums will feature over 40 artisans and vendors. Hours are 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Offerings will include cookies, candy, lasered wood, crocheted works, fabric crafts, quilts, soaps, candles, Scentsy, Color Street and Tupperware. The event at 411 W.
