The boy, who was helping his mother behind the counter, was struck in the shoulder when a bullet pierced the store window.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">He was taken to St. Christopher&#8217;s Hospital for Children and is listed in stable condition.<\/p>\n<p>Advertisement<\/p>\n<p>Advertisement<\/p>\n<p>Advertisement<\/p>\n<p>Advertisement<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">According to Chief Inspector Scott Small, a 25-year-old woman told police she had been involved in an altercation with a male driver moments before the gunfire erupted.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Police say the man allegedly fired shots from a vehicle, and the woman returned fire from the sidewalk. At least nine shell casings were recovered at the scene.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">&#8220;The 12-year-old boy was behind the counter helping the mother out when a stray bullet went through the window and struck the boy in the store,&#8221; Small said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The woman is being interviewed by police.
