Incumbent Republican U.S. Rep. Ryan Mackenzie and Democrat Bob Brooks, who’s the president of Pennsylvania’s firefighters union, are facing off.

Both candidates held events Sunday in the Lehigh Valley as the countdown winds down.

“We’ve been working over a year-and-a-half to make sure we were ready for November’s election, so now we’re just taking it up a notch,” said Congressman Mackenzie.

“It’s time we had someone representing the Lehigh Valley in Congress who actually understands the challenges working people are facing,” said Brooks.

Mackenzie is coming off his first term in Congress after defeating Susan Wild in 2024. He met with supporters in Bethlehem Township.

“So, now we’re going to be talking about the record tax relief that we delivered for everybody all across the country. The fact that the border is secure and actually the fact that we are the ones going in there and talking about reforming Congress and reforming Washington D.C. So, I’m a proud supporter of banning insider trading amongst members of Congress,” said Congressman Mackenzie.

Brooks campaigned in Bethlehem Sunday with the support of Gov. Josh Shapiro and House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries.
