announced by the Upper Saucon Township center Monday morning.

“While it may appear to be a decorative fountain, interactive splash pads operate under many of the same public health and water quality standards as public aquatic facilities,” the shopping center said online. “They require continuous water filtration and disinfection systems, daily water quality testing by certified personnel, routine maintenance, state inspections, and specialized mechanical infrastructure to operate safely. After years of service, the fountain’s underground plumbing, pumps, filtration equipment, and mechanical systems have reached the end of their useful life. Continuing to operate the fountain would require significant infrastructure replacement and investment.”

The fountains’ shutoff, the announcement said, will make way “for a reimagined Town Square that reflects the evolving needs of our community and continues to provide a welcoming place for guests to gather and connect. While those plans are still being developed, our commitment remains the same: creating an exceptional experience for everyone who visits Promenade Saucon Valley.”

Families and shoppers will need to find a new spot to shake the heat following Promenade Saucon Valley’s…

[14
153,155,154,60,182,436,432
post-252969","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-bethlehem","tag-bethlehem","tag-bethlehem-headlines","tag-bethlehem-news","tag-business","tag-local-news","tag-retail","tag-top-stories-tmc
["GET
