READING, Pa. – Monday night, City Council voted to extend a pause on parking violations at dangerous intersections in the city for one year.<\/p>\n
The council previously put a moratorium in place on North 5th Street at Oley and Douglass streets, and on Hampden Boulevard at Amity, Perry, Richmond, and Robeson streets.<\/p>\n
Members of the council say plans to improve the line of sight at the intersections eliminated parking spots and didn’t make things safer.<\/p>\n
The council president says she thinks the council would need to see data showing improvements before the moratorium would go away.<\/p>\n
\u201cBeing out in Centre Park, hearing from folks out there they’re very grateful for additional parking.
