Two dead after shooting in Clairton, police searching for suspects<\/p>\n

Allegheny County police investigating shooting outside Village Inn on Miller Avenue<\/p>\n

Two men are dead after a shooting in Clairton on Saturday evening, the Allegheny County Police Department’s Homicide Unit said.<\/p>\n

County 911 was notified of a shooting in the 800 block of Miller Avenue at about 6:35 p.m., police said. First responders found two men with gunshot wounds. Both victims were transported to the hospital, where they were pronounced dead.<\/p>\n

The medical examiner’s office identified one of the men shot and killed as 32-year-old Robert Allen Jones. The name of the other victim has not been officially released yet.<\/p>\n

This all happened outside the Village Inn on Miller Avenue. Pittsburgh’s Action News 4 saw a dozen evidence markers and various items all over the ground.<\/p>\n

“Grew up together as brothers. They were just family. There’s no reason it should have happened to them,” said Keatha Johnson, who works as a cook at the Village Inn and knew both victims.<\/p>\n

Detectives say their preliminary information shows that the suspects fled the area in a vehicle. No descriptions were immediately available.<\/p>\n

Anyone who has information about the shooting is asked to call the Allegheny County Police Tip Line at 1-833-ALL-TIPS. Callers can remain anonymous.<\/p>\n
