A Waterford man is facing numerous charges after allegedly leading Pennsylvania State Police on a pursuit through Waterford Borough before escaping into a wooded area.<\/p>\n
According to a Pennsylvania State Police, troopers attempted to stop a red dirt bike being operated by Austin Ramirez, 30, of Waterford, for traffic violations on Walnut Street at approximately 9:11 p.m. on July 23.<\/p>\n
Police said Ramirez failed to stop and fled, prompting a pursuit through the borough. The chase lasted approximately two minutes and covered about 2.1 miles before troopers terminated the pursuit when the dirt bike entered a wooded area.<\/p>\n
Following an investigation, state police filed multiple charges against Ramirez on July 24, including Fleeing or Attempting to Elude Police, Disorderly Conduct, Reckless Driving, Careless Driving, and several vehicle-related violations involving registration, inspection, insurance, lighting requirements, signaling, and speed laws.<\/p>\n
The charges were filed through Magisterial District Judge Brian McGowan’s office. A warrant has since been issued for Ramirez’s arrest and remains outstanding.<\/p>\n
