HARRISBURG, Pa. – An inmate at a correctional institution was charged for threatening Governor Josh Shapiro and First Lady Lori Shapiro last week.<\/p>\n
On Wednesday, July 22, members of the Pennsylvania State Police Political Violence Threat Unit were given information that an inmate at State Correctional Institution (SCI)- Camp Hill wrote two letters intended to be sent to two separate county clerks, according to a release from PSP.<\/p>\n
Police say in those letters, threats to Governor Josh Shapiro, his wife, First Lady Lori Shapiro and the Governor’s mansion were discovered. The letters were intercepted by SCI Camp Hill staff prior to being sent.<\/p>\n
The release says the inmate, Corey Alan Bennett, a 34-year-old man from Knoxville, Tennessee, was interviewed and admitted to writing the letters.
