Rodgers had said last summer that he intended on 2025 being his final year in the NFL. However, when speaking to the media to kickoff training camp, he revealed why he decided to come back.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1upudxki _174s0un1 _174s0un0 _1mt21p01\">\u201cI felt last year might be it,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/ASaunders_PGH\/status\/2082124114752307509?s=20\" rel=\"nofollow\">Rodgers said.<\/a> \u201cAnd then Mike [McCarthy] got hired. I talked to the wife and she said, \u2018you can do one more year.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1upudxki _174s0un1 _174s0un0 _1mt21p01\">While Rodgers will be entering his 22nd NFL season, he made it clear that there is \u201czero debate\u201d on 2026 being his final season.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1upudxki _174s0un1 _174s0un0 _1mt21p01\">The Steelers will have their first padded practice on Monday, August 3, with their first preseason game taking place Thursday August 11 against the Green Bay Packers at Acrisure Stadium.
