An investigation is underway, officials said, after a delivery driver was shot in Northern Liberties overnight.<\/p>\n
According to police, the incident happened at about 1 a.m. near the intersection of 6th and Spring Garden streets when a delivery driver was shot in the hand. <\/p>\n
In a morning update, police said the shooting erupted after the 31-year-old man, who was delivering food, became involved in an argument with a woman and teen girl at that location. <\/p>\n
During this altercation, officials said, the driver was struck in the back of his head by an unknown object and he ran back to his vehicle. <\/p>\n
When he turned to look back toward the initial location of the altercation, police said, the victim saw a man holding a firearm and shooting in his direction. <\/p>\n
He was struck once in his left hand as he returned to his vehicle. <\/p>\n
This victim, police said, was taken to the hospital following the shooting, where he was listed in stable condition.<\/p>\n
At the scene, a car that had been hit several times by gunfire — including through the driver’s side window — could be seen as officers investigated this incident. <\/p>\n
Following the shooting, officials said, a man and woman were taken into custody and charges were pending. <\/p>\n
An investigation, officials said, remains ongoing. <\/p>\n
