Pennsylvania Department of State<\/a> that they identified a voter, registered through the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation\u2019s Motor Voter Program, who was apparently a non-citizen and should not have been able to register,” a statement from the board of elections said. “Following the initial notification from the Department of State, the County received information on several other voters that may have been improperly registered.”<\/p>\nAs of Wednesday, the board said it was aware of five improperly registered voters.<\/p>\n

The Board of Elections canceled each improperly registered voter\u2019s registration and notified the affected individual by letter.Officials reviewed each voter\u2019s record and referred attempted voting cases to the District Attorney\u2019s Office for potential investigation and prosecution.The Elections Office is reviewing all available registration records because of concerns involving the state\u2019s Motor Voter Program.Registrations requiring further scrutiny may be canceled or placed on hold pending documentation.The Elections Office will continue working with the Lancaster County District Attorney\u2019s Office to review affected voter files.In 2024, the two offices helped uncover and stop a broader voter-registration fraud operation by alerting other Pennsylvania counties and sharing their investigative process.<\/p>\n
