A Carbondale man refused to stop for Scranton police when they attempted to stop his vehicle on Wyoming Avenue, instead yelling, \u201cI\u2019m good,\u201d and driving away, according to a criminal complaint.<\/p>\n
Anthony Robinson, 35, of Birkett Street, faces a felony charge of fleeing and eluding law enforcement officers, in addition to charges of driving under the influence and having an open container of alcohol inside his vehicle.<\/p>\n
Police responded to the McDonald\u2019s on Wyoming Avenue at about 9 p.m. on Friday for a report of two men refusing to leave the establishment, being aggressive and going behind the counter.<\/p>\n
As police were placing one man in their patrol vehicle in the parking lot, Robinson began yelling, and officers asked him to move along.<\/p>\n
Robinson then went back to his SUV, attempted to leave the area and struck a pole in a parking lot across the street, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n
He then put the vehicle in reverse to clear the pole and began driving away.<\/p>\n
Police yelled to Robinson that he needed to stop, but he allegedly responded, \u201cNo, I\u2019m good,\u201d and kept going.<\/p>\n
Officers found the SUV in the 100 block of Green Place with heavy front-end damage and an oil leak. They found Robinson nearby.<\/p>\n
Officers noted the vehicle was registered to Robinson.<\/p>\n
Robinson, who smelled of alcohol, was not able to satisfactorily complete a field sobriety test, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n
When asked what he had to drink that evening, he said, \u201cwater.\u201d<\/p>\n
He remains in Lackawanna County Prison in lieu of $10,000 bail.<\/p>\n
