Located in front of Starbucks, the fountain features an underground system of pumps that send jets of water through openings in the plaza\u2019s pavement.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWhile it may appear to be a decorative fountain, interactive splash pads operate under many of the same public health and water quality standards as public aquatic facilities. They require continuous water filtration and disinfection systems, daily water quality testing by certified personnel, routine maintenance, state inspections and specialized mechanical infrastructure to operate safely,\u201d Promenade management officials said in<a href=\"https:\/\/www.promenadesauconvalley.com\/interactive-pop-jet-fountain\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"> a statement posted on the center\u2019s website<\/a>. \u201cAfter years of service, the fountain\u2019s underground plumbing, pumps, filtration equipment and mechanical systems have reached the end of their useful life. Continuing to operate the fountain would require significant infrastructure replacement and investment.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They added that the decision to \u201cpermanently retire the Interactive Pop Jet Fountain\u2026was not made lightly.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Pop Jet Fountain is an amenity that opened not long after the Promenade itself first opened in October 2006.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Officials said that in the coming months, they will \u201cbegin planning for a reimagined Town Square that reflects the evolving needs of our community and continues to provide a welcoming place for guests to gather and connect.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWhile those plans are still being developed, our commitment remains the same: creating an exceptional experience for everyone who visits Promenade Saucon Valley,\u201d they added.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Promenade Saucon Valley is home to dozens of businesses, including retail shops, restaurants, a supermarket and a movie theater. Newly-opened establishments include <a href=\"https:\/\/sauconsource.com\/2026\/06\/10\/virtual-food-hall-opens-thursday-at-promenade-saucon-valley\/\" type=\"post\" id=\"79559\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Wonder<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/sauconsource.com\/2026\/03\/21\/normans-hallmark-opens-at-promenade-saucon-valley\/\" type=\"post\" id=\"78714\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Norman\u2019s Hallmark<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/sauconsource.com\/2026\/04\/04\/sephora-opens-at-promenade\/\" type=\"post\" id=\"78850\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Sephora<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/0516151051-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"Promenade Shops Starbucks\" class=\"wp-image-4396\"  \/>The pop-jet fountain in front of Starbucks in the Promenade Shops at Saucon Valley\u2019s Town Square has been a popular play area for small children during the summer for nearly 20 years.
