COOPERSBURG, Pa. \u2013 An area that\u2019s prone to flooding, Route 309 in Lehigh County saw the impact of Tuesday\u2019s storms.<\/p>\n
Intense flash flooding shut down part of the roadway, and a local business was also forced to close.<\/p>\n
Cars and tractor-trailers tried to carefully make their way through the water on Route 309, but some vehicles backed up and turned around to avoid flooding in some spots.<\/p>\n
The Inside Scoop ice cream shop in Coopersburg also saw its share of water woes.<\/p>\n
\u201cUsually, we have to, like, put the sandbags out when it rains really hard, but nothing usually happens. Usually, it\u2019s just precautionary, but this is like the worst that I\u2019ve seen it,\u201d said Rocco Corradini, an employee at The Inside Scoop.<\/p>\n
Employees were working to clean up water that made its way into the shop, prompting it to close early.<\/p>\n
The Inside Scoop said it would let customers know on its social media<\/a> when the store is able to reopen.<\/p>\n
