The Philadelphia Police Department’s bomb squad was involved in an investigation overnight after, officials said, an unknown device was thrown into a home in the Feltonville section of North Philly. <\/p>\n
According to police, the investigation began after someone threw an unknown device into the window of a rowhome along the 400 block of West Courtland Street at about 2 a.m. early Thursday. <\/p>\n
The object — which police did not immediately provide additional details on — was thrown into a window of a rowhome before, police said, an occupant inside the property tossed the device back out of the window and onto the sidewalk outside. <\/p>\n
At the scene, investigators could be seen examining a box on the ground as police taped off the area. <\/p>\n
Officials said the object was being investigated as a “suspected explosive device,” but they did not say exactly what the device may have been. <\/p>\n
Though, police did not evacuate the block and the object was removed from the scene by the police bomb squad. <\/p>\n
Officials also did not immediately announce any suspects or arrests in this incident.<\/p>\n
But, an investigation into this incident is still ongoing.<\/p>\n
