A local catering business in the Pittsburgh area is under Consumer Alert after evidence of a rodent infestation was discovered during an inspection.<\/p>\n
The Allegheny County Health Department says Hanlon’s Catering on Clever Road in Robinson Township had eight total violations, including three considered high-risk.<\/p>\n
Inspectors found noodles, breadcrumbs, pancake mix and walnuts \u201cadulterated.\u201d<\/p>\n
Rodent droppings were also found on a rack storing clean dishes, a rack with stainless steel bowls and other areas. Those were listed as repeat violations.<\/p>\n
The Health Department says all high and medium risk violations need to be corrected before the Consumer Alert is lifted.<\/p>\n
The store needs to throw away all of the food affected by contamination, place remaining foods in \u201crodent-proof\u201d containers, \u201cobtain professional pest control\u201d and remove all rodent droppings.<\/p>\n
A follow-up inspection will take place within 10 days. If violations are not corrected, the business will be ordered closed. A reinspection is planned for August 7, unless requested earlier.<\/p>\n
