The Crushers rallied with four runs in the ninth inning, but host New Jersey hung on for a 7-6 victory on July 30.<\/p>\n
Lake Erie (29-40) trailed, 7-2, entering the top of the ninth. Second baseman Luis Acevedo hit a two-run home run against his old team to make it 7-4. Later in the inning, first baseman Jacob Tobias hit an RBI double to make it 7-5, then scored on a dropped third strike to cut the Crushers\u2019 deficit to one run.<\/p>\n
Right fielder James Jett came up next, but flied out to right field to end the game. Jett finished with two hits and an RBI.<\/p>\n
Center fielder Garret Pike had two hits, including a double, and an RBI. Acevedo also had two hits.<\/p>\n
Nicholas Chavez had one hit and scored twice, and Joe Redfield had one hit and one run scored.<\/p>\n
Lake Erie starter Edwin Sanchez (6-5) took the loss. He gave up four runs, struck out five and walked seven.<\/p>\n
