<\/p>\nA former Atlantic City lifeguard has been arrested following an undercover child luring investigation.<\/p>\n
Camden County Prosecutors announced that Stephen M. Pagnoni, 38, of Egg Harbor Township, is facing several serious charges. He has been charged with: first-degree attempted manufacturing of child sexual abuse material, second-degree attempt to lure a child, second-degree attempted sexual assault of a minor, second-degree attempted prostitution with a minor and third-degree attempted sending obscene material to a minor. <\/p>\n
Pagnoni was also charged with two counts of third-degree attempted endangering the welfare of a child and two counts of engaging in prostitution. <\/p>\n
According to prosecutors, on July 28, 2026, Pagnoni began communicating online with a person whom he believed was a 15-year-old girl.\u00a0Meanwhile, the person chatting with him was actually an undercover detective from the Camden County Prosecutor\u2019s Office High Tech Crimes Unit.<\/p>\n
During the conversation, prosecutors said Pangoni arranged a meeting at a park in Cherry Hill for the purpose of engaging in sexual activity with the girl in exchange for money.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Prosecutors said after arriving at the meeting location, Pagnoni was taken into custody by members of the Cherry Hill Police Department Tactical Response Team and Camden County Prosecutor\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n

Pagnoni was taken to the Camden County Correctional Facility, pending a detention hearing.<\/p>\n
Pagnoni has been employed as a lifeguard with the Atlantic City Beach Patrol for nearly 20 years, prosecutors said. He has since been suspended from his role.<\/p>\n
