In Monday\u2019s (7\/27) Daily Gazette<\/a> (Schenectady, NY),\u00a0 Geraldine Freedman writes, \u201cThe Philadelphia Orchestra will open its 60th season Aug. 5 at Saratoga Performing Arts Center (SPAC), and no one is looking forward to it more than Marin Alsop, who will conduct the first two days of the ensemble\u2019s three-week stay. \u2018I\u2019m living the dream,\u2019 Alsop said. \u2018I\u2019m super excited to be coming back to where I grew up and visit friends.\u2019 \u2026 Alsop will work with pianist Jeneba Kanneh-Mason, who is making her SPAC debut in Mozart\u2019s Piano Concerto No. 23, as well as conducting Aaron Copland\u2019s Fanfare for the Common Man and Joan Tower\u2019s Fanfare for the Uncommon Woman\u2026. Daniele Rustioni, principal guest conductor of the Metropolitan Opera, will debut Aug. 12, as will violinist Bomsori Kim \u2026 [who] will perform Erich Wolfgang Korngold\u2019s Violin Concerto\u2026. On Aug. 19, [concertmaster] David Kim takes the stage to lead an hour-long duo of Vivaldi\u2019s Four Seasons with Astor Piazzolla\u2019s The Four Seasons of Buenos Aires. \u2018We\u2019ll alternate each movement with Piazzolla\u2019s more technical, sexy, rhythmic dance moves,\u2019 Kim said. \u2018We\u2019ve done this combination so many times during the season and it always packs the house.
