Novak was set to become an unrestricted free agent after the upcoming season.<\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"2\">In 82 games with the Penguins last year, Novak scored 16 goals and added 26 assists.  He was the only Penguin to dress for all 82 games.<\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"3\">The Minnesota native played college hockey at the University of Minnesota and played for team USA at this year&#8217;s World Championship.
